More Than Just Magic

Fangirl Friday is a semi weekly feature hosted by More Than Just Magic where you can let your inner fangirl or fanboy loose. It is a time where you are not only allowed but encouraged to gush about your favourite fandom(s).

A few days ago she pointed me toward a website, hosted by Marvel Comics, where you could create your own superhero. 

I love superheroes. I love the comics and the movies and the television shows. All of it. I think it’s just fantastic. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that I lost a few hours playing around with all the different accessories, costumes and colours available on the site. Here’s what I came up with:

I wanted my superhero to reflect my love of high fantasy so I chose the double swords that are strapped to her back. But I didn’t think they alone made her a “superhero” so I drew some inspiration from my favourite superhero team – The X-Men. I gave her Wolverine style claws and a colour scheme that was similar (but inverted) to their old outfits. I briefly considered giving her a cape but then I remembered The Incredibles and thought better of it. And finally I had to give her a nifty, all purpose belt, because of my early memories of the Batman TV Show. He always had the solution to any problem in that belt of his.

Now the only thing she’s missing is a name! I’m open to any suggestions!
